Following its recent six-figure investment to transform outdated offices at Coniscliffe House, property investment company, Landteam, is investing in the town once again.
With the newly-renovated office space at Coniscliffe House now fully let – including The Northern Echo’s new home – Landteam, together with Appleshed Consulting, has renovated an additional 2,442 sq. ft. of space on High Row, to create much-needed Grade A studio offices.
Commercial property consultants, Knight Frank, has been appointed to market the space at the high street development which is called Clock Tower Studios.

The terraced property, located in a prime, town centre location above St Teresa’s Hospice, has been transformed from run-down office accommodation into highly sustainable, contemporary studios – each with their own kitchen facility, interiors and communal areas.
The building, which is now ready to occupy, has EPC A and B rated offices, A+++ efficiency air conditioning and a video door entry system. Offices are available from 1,221 sq. ft. to 2,442 sq. ft.
Property Manager at Landteam, Edward Speir, said: “Because our first Darlington town centre office project is now full, we were encouraged to add more quality office space to the local market as we know the demand is there.
“The building was looking tired but we could see the floor plates were there. Nick Appleyard of Appleshed Consulting worked closely with us to completely transform the space, initially by ripping out all the internal ceilings. I think we were all amazed by the potential and the quality of the space we have achieved.
“Michael Chou of Cellar Door Architecture helped us with the initial concept design for the ground floor lobby area.
“We took the concept from Michael, who has worked on many high profile office projects and previously with internationally renowned Foster & Partners, and we built on that.”
Patrick Matheson, Partner at Knight Frank, adds: “This is another fantastic opportunity for businesses to secure space in a vibrant, central location in Darlington town centre, only a short walk from the train station.
“The refurbishment has responded to changing occupier needs, specifically on sustainability, which is a now high priority for most businesses.”
