Stock Market LIVE updates on Lok Sabha election results day, June 04: Indian equities witnessed a bloodbath Tuesday, as investors tracked uncertainity in early trends of the 2024 Lok Sabha election results.
The S&P BSE Sensex was down nearly 6,100 points to test 79,995, while the Nifty was below 21,300.
In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap, and SmallCap indices fell up to 11 per cent. Among sectors, the Nifty PSU Bank slipped over 18 per cent, followed by the Nifty Metal index (down 9 per cent).
As of 12:32 PM, Narendra Modi-led BJP was seen leading in 296 seats, and Congress was seen with 228 seats, as per Election Commission of India.
