Artists from Neath are staging an exhibition in the town to raise money for the Urdd Eisteddfod being held in Margam County Park and Castle next year.
Neale Howells, Carwyn Evans and Paul Rees, are three of the artists who
have donated work to the exhibition being held at the Queen Street Gallery, between October 25 and 26.
The exhibition will be an opportunity to buy a piece of art at a reasonable price while contributing to the success of next year’s Urdd Eisteddfod.
The Urdd Eisteddfod is the largest youth festival in Europe, bringing together thousands of young people from across the country come together to compete in music, art and performance competitions, in a celebration of culture.
The Urdd has established fundraising committees across Neath Port Talbot and this exhibition has been organised by the Neath committee.
All proceeds from the art sale will benefit the Eisteddfod being held next May, during Whitsun week.
One of the organisers Roger Williams said: “Artists have been extremely generous in donating pieces to us and we hope to sell as many as possible in order to reach our committee’s fundraising target. It’s a win-win situation, people can grab a lovely piece of art for less than £200 and every penny goes straight to the Urdd.”
The exhibition opens to the public from 6pm on Friday, October 25.
