We recently counted down the Top 1055 Songs of the 21st Century, based on your votes, and the White Stripes wound up topping the list with their song “Seven Nation Army.”
But did the White Stripes have the most songs on the list during the countdown? Turns out, they had a total of 6. Which is a strong showing, but in terms of sheer numbers it was not the highest.

Canadian band Arcade Fire’s roots date back to 2001, their highly acclaimed debut album came out in 2004, and not too many years later they were touring arenas, packing festivals, earning an Oscar nomination, and winning Juno, Brit, and Grammy awards. It’s no wonder they showed up 8 times on the countdown – they basically grew up during the 21st century and left a lasting mark.
