8 musical artists on the rise in 2025


2024 was a historic year for music lovers, with numerous records broken and set, international tours, diss battles, feuds and ground-breaking halftime show performances.

The music industry is constantly evolving and changing with new voices, content and core memory-making experiences. As 2025 unfolds, a new era of artists waves across their genres by captivating listeners and music critics.

Benson Boone

Benson Boone is a singer-songwriter known for his emotive and heartfelt pop ballads. He gained attention on TikTok and Season 19 of “American Idol” before pursuing a music career as an independent artist. His song “Beautiful Things” peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and has gained over a billion streams on Spotify. He is an artist to be on the lookout for, especially on the Hot 100. 

Doechii

Doechii is a rising rapper, singer and songwriter blending hip-hop, R&B and experimental sounds. With her unapologetic lyrics and magnetic stage presence, she earned her place as a fresh voice in contemporary music after gaining attention in 2022 and 2023 for tracks like “Crazy” and “Persuasive.”

Doechii first appeared in the mainstream music scene with her song “What it Is (Block Boy)” which earned No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 2023. The 2024 release of her third mixtape “Alligator Bites Never Heal” was a hit, with the album making its way into the top 10 of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album Billboard charts.

Raye

British singer-songwriter Raye has transitioned from the behind-the-scenes hit-maker for artists like Beyoncé and Little Mix to a solo career. Her music spans pop, R&B and dance genres, with hits like “Escapism” showcasing her raw vulnerability and artistry.

The ground-breaking artist set records at the 2024 Brit Awards with seven nominations. Her debut album, “My 21st Century Blues,” was released in 2023 but peaked in 2024. Raye also performed at the Royal Albert Hall in October 2023.

Teddy Swims

A soulful singer with a rich and raspy voice, Teddy Swims combines elements of R&B, soul and pop in his music. Swims is known for his viral covers and original music like “Lose Control” and captivates audiences with his heartfelt performances and relatable lyrics.

His 2024 hit, “Lose Control,” reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s year-end Hot 100 Songs chart. Recently, Swims also released a collaboration with artist Giveon titled “Are You Even Real.”

THEY.

THEY. is the name of the R&B duo Andrew Neely and Dante Jones. The duo blends soulful vocals with edgy production and influences of hip-hop, alternative and electronic music.

With tracks like “Dante’s Creek” and “Count Me In,” THEY. creates a unique and modern soundscape that resonates across genres. In 2017, the duo spoke about the advice the artists have received from legendary producer and musician Timbaland. The Los Angeles duo is next in line to stamp a unique sound on the music industry. 

YG Marley

YG Marley is an emerging artist combining Caribbean influences with modern trap and hip-hop. His music often features rhythmic beats and introspective lyrics, making him a versatile and promising act in the urban music scene.

Marley is the son of neo-soul hip-hop artist Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley, the son of Bob Marley. In 2024, he saw a rise in public interest with his platinum single “Praise Jah in the Moonlight.”

JUNGLE

Jungle is a UK-based modern funk and neo-soul band known for its groovy, retro-inspired sound. The band’s music, such as “Keep Moving” and “Casio,” is characterized by infectious beats, vibrant choruses and a cinematic quality.

The group’s 2023 song “Back on 74” saw love for its rhythmic nature, incredible visuals and choreography. The choreography sparked trends across TikTok and numerous social media platforms, with South African artist Tyla recreating the music video with the group and dancers appearing in the original video. 

Odetari

An experimental electronic artist who fuses hyperpop, EDM and glitch aesthetics, Odetari is known for creating energetic and genre-defying tracks. Odetari’s music often appeals to fans of boundary-pushing, high-energy sonic experiences.

The artist saw his first entry into the Billboard Hot 100 with “Keep Up.” Since then, Odetari has been a TikTok sensation with millions of people recreating the dance from the “Keep Up” visualizer. His unique sound is sure to become a staple of the 2025 hyperpop-EDM scene.
